Semiconductor Test
Applications Engineer
USA - Santa Clara (CA)
SPEA has an immediate need for a Semiconductor Test Engineer in the area of Santa Clara, CA.
SPEA is a worldwide leader in the testing of electronic products. We work with the most advanced electronic and semiconductor companies worldwide selling Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for engineering or high-volume production as well as by providing outstanding Test Application Services.
A candidate for the Test Application Engineering position, must be a person willing to grow his technical competence by designing disruptive innovative test solution for the most advanced semiconductor devices that will be used in our every-day life (like smartphones, tablets, cars, etc…).
In this role the Test Application Engineer will be tasked with many activities including the following:
- Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge analog, mixed signal and power management (PMIC) devices
- Design Tester Interface (Load Board) for Semiconductor Products such as mixed signal and power management (PMIC) devices • Develop and Debug, in C/Visual Basic, Test Applications for SPEA’s ATE.
- Create Test Feasibility Analysis of new devices based on customer specifications and SPEA’s ATE specifications.
- Create test programs & presentations to demonstrate SPEA’s ATE capabilities.
- Identify trends in customer IC development to help guide the development of new SPEA ATE instrumentation
- Travel to SPEA headquarters in Italy and to customer sites worldwide to support SPEA product development and customer’s product engineers on implementation of new products and test requirements. Travel requirements may be 30% or greater.
- Teach technical classes and seminars to customers and SPEA engineers
- Work with Sales and Marketing to develop sales and support strategies
This candidate will have:
- BSEE or MSEE in Electrical / Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Visual Basic | C# | C++
- Desire to work with customers and field applications group to solve testing challenges
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to work independently, in a dynamic and challenging workplace
- Willingness to travel, minimum travel expectation of approx. 20% includes travel both internationally and domestically.
- The candidate should expect to spend a period of approximately 1 year in either Tyler (TX) or Torino (ITALY).
- Candidates located in Tyler, Tx must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident

Regional Sales Manager

SPEA has an immediate opening in our Semiconductor Test Division for a Regional Sales Manager. SPEA is a worldwide leader in the testing of electronic products. We work with the most advanced electronic and semiconductor companies worldwide selling Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for engineering or high-volume production.
A candidate for a Regional Sales Manager position requires a minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology and must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
In this role the Regional Sales Manager will be tasked with many activities including the following:
- This position involves a combination of sales and semiconductor test applications engineering activities
- The position is responsible for increasing new and existing business opportunities by integrating the SPEA Semiconductor Test Division products into various test requirements of SPEA’s customers
- Working with the SPEA team, provides excellent sales and technical knowledge to help customers develop new products and improve existing products
- Pursues new “next generation” applications and business opportunities to enable the SPEA team to develop and enhance SPEA’s products
- Maintains close contacts with customers’ purchasing and engineering staff through frequent visits, follow-up meetings and correspondence
- Informs the SPEA team of customer’s specifications required for a given product application, based on advanced engineering and product knowledge
- Works with the SPEA team to resolve engineering related problems with customer
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- This position may require travelling in the entire North American territory for approximately 30% of the time
